Energy Balls
Now more than ever, especially with Christmas just a few days away, we need to keep our energy levels high as well as keeping our nutrition well balanced.
We all loves sweet treats and what better way than to enjoy these delicious and nutritious balls of sweetness and goodness.
Filled with only natural sugars = dates and natural sources of fats and
protein = nuts, this is a truly natural and healthy way to enjoy sweet treats as a healthy snack or dessert!
Makes 12 balls (depending on how big you make them)
Ingredients
2 cups walnuts (cashews or pecans work well too)
1 cup mejdool dates
Pinch of sea salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
Juice from 1/2 lemon or orange (and zest if desired)
Optional extras: cocoa powder, mixed dried fruits, mixed nuts, nut butters
Method
Put all the ingredients into a food processor and mix until the mixture comes together
Empty into a mixing bowl and start rolling
Once rolled, you can coat these in any toppings you desire (desiccated coconut, crushed nuts, freeze dried fruit powders and so on)
Keep in an air tight container/jar and these will keep in a cool dry place or fridge for 1 month
