Smoked Tofu

Tofu is an important part of a vegan diet and when done right, it can be really tasty. Like anything, on its own, tofu is bland however it needs some good flavours (herbs, spices & marinades) to make it complete.

Here is a very simply recipe to try.

Serves 4

Ingredients

1 block of firm tofu, drained and cut into cubes
2 tbsp liquid smoke OR 1 tsp smoked paprika
2 tbsp olive/coconut oil
2 tbsp soya or tamari sauce
Pinch of black pepper or dried chilli flakes

Method

  1. In a frying pan, add all the ingredients

  2. Saute the tofu until all sides are nicely browned

  3. Serve with rice, noodles or sautéed potatoes and veggies or salad
